For the better

FOR THE BETTER

Being at ease anywhere and everywhere is the aim of this trend. Neutral urban-chic colours are used with transparent tones, fresh as a spring sky. Simple and comfortable travel clothing, dominated by cotton, enzyme twill and natte, marled fleece and plated rubs. But also a casual chic style for living the city life with nonchalance. Think neo-preppies. Washes for fading, bleaching, pigment dyeing, worn denim, dusty tie-dye and crinkling give a lived-in look. The vintage spirit is found in the details; sepia map prints, faded retro exotic symbols, chambray and gingham checks, two-tone tiny flowers and necktie motifs. Biological and technological come together in the super-light, high performance fibres and in the accessories; smooth and ribbed anti-bacterial elastic ribbons, mother-of-pearl buttons, with linked typing, rows of hooks on visible figured ribbons, buttons in rippley dull resin with corrugated effect.

Full Bloom

FULL BLOOM

This mood is imbued with an awakening of florals with visions of unmatched charm. Bold vegetable colours are paired with positive bright shades, as only nature knows how. A sense of freshness is felt in the 'Toile de juoy' prints on cretonne, sparse bouquets, pointille techniques, madras, gingham checks, raw cloth with 'grassy' embroidery. Pollen-like flocking and wallpaper flowers on worn denim.Your surfaces must be budding with sequences of uneven raised motifs, shrinking on rustic gauze and silky voile, tight gathering, seersucker, smocking, big bubble embossing and radial micro pleats. There must be plenty of luxuriant visions and Zen expressions in mix and match arabesques in different layering, gold threaded voile, small stylized flower beds, Ikebana arrangement jacquards, bonsai tree clip spots, large screen printed hibiscus and sequined water lilies with dewy effects. Even the accessories should be inspired by nature with bindings in layered georgette petals, 3D inflorescence on tulle, micro sphere appliqués in ‘Magic India’ motifs, grassy grounds and enamelled flowers for flat buttons, micro pleats in organza and bouquet-like pins in shaded Plexiglas

For Fun!

FOR FUN

A trend characterised by subtle humour and the joyous spirit for relaxing moments. The colours for this trend are graphic and simple, but also fanciful. Play on ideas like a fun childish game of irony, seduction and spontaneous competition. Visually bricolage, puzzles and colour blocks, random stripes and zig-zag combinations are great for surface pattern. The fabrics have a silky aspect, cupro blends, with light and structured bases, chintzing and mercerizing. Continuing the playful seduction theme you might include a boudoir atmosphere featuring the frivolous and the innocently sexy, with peek-a- boo effects, satin ribbons on tulle, stocking knits with nude tiger stripes, ombre Chantilly lace and anatomic pin-tucks in guepiere mood. But fun is also sport; sailor symbols, overprinted anchor motifs, stripes, rainbow tints for oilcloth, stretch terry, loose and tight fishnet, wet-effect lamination, abyss scenes and coral type encrustations. Completing this playful atmosphere are the accessories; borders with heat-transfer pieces, screen prints on satin ribbon covered with dotted tulle, passementerie with cord and tubular braiding knots, nautical stripes on ribbons, zips with wide fluoro ribbon, maxi 'corset' hooks with stiff rubber bases and round buttons with 'pin-up' decals.

Obviously ;)

This is an interesting idea, of neon text over an austere background..

Match font to theme. Don't just plonk it on top of your image.
